The Artists
Seamus Fogarty
London-based alt-folk alchemist Seamus Fogarty released his new album Ships to critical acclaim via Scottish label Lost Map Records and Swedish label Sing A Song Fighter. Since then, he has enjoyed widespread coverage across BBC 6 Music (“Fantastic!” – Guy Garvey) and recorded a live session for Gideon Coe & Marc Riley, while BBC Radio 3’s Elizabeth Alker lauded the album’s mix of electronica, German avant-garde, and Irish folk inspiration: “It’s robotic, and it’s got soul.” Even actor Cillian Murphy has proclaimed Seamus to be “one of my favourite artists around at the moment.”
Augmenting his performances with a range of analog synths, drum machines, and a stellar cast of supporting musicians—including multi-instrumentalist Emma Smith (Pulp, Beth Gibbons) and drummer Aram Zarikian (Grass Cut, Peaky Blinders)—his live shows are ambitious and captivating. Having wowed audiences on the festival circuits at End of the Road, Green Man, and All Together Now, as well as touring with Lisa O’Neill, Katherine Priddy, and This Is the Kit, this is a performance not to be missed.
The Owl Service
The Owl Service is Dorothy Chappell, Rebecca Leivers, and Steven Collins—an Essex-based alternative folk collective who have been fusing traditional British song with bold instrumentation for the past 20 years. Perennial folk outsiders, The Owl Service continue to tread their own unique path, drawing influence from folk-horror, British folklore, and the English folk revival of the 1960s and ’70s.
